memories of an ex-day-dreamer

Yesterday my son asked me, "Dad, If you could have any car in the world, what would it be?". ...A simple enough question, but all of the sudden I was jarred out of my oh-so-serious and hyper-realistic mindset and it reminded me of how much fun it is to indulge in the true child-like, skys-the-limit day-dreaming and wishing. You know, the kind of day-dreaming you can until life forces you embrace the sober-sensibilities of a grown-up...before you realize that the dream is foolish and it will never happen...and its pointless to dream ...I have since spent the last 24 hours trying to remember the boy I used to be. I was an awesome day-dreamer. I was such a day-dreamer that my parents were really worried that I would never engage the world seriously. The closest I have come to remembering my former self is to watch my kids play. What a blessing and gift....

If I could have any car in the world.....

...it would be a 1967 Shelby Cobra. :-)
